Michelle Bachmann Brings the Stupid

She's amazing. She just keeps going and going and doesn't seem to care how big a fool she makes of herself.

Rep. Michele Bachmann (R-MN) says ...

I haven't purposely been trying to be inflammatory. I'm trying to just explain to the American people what's happening here in Washington, D.C.
Lady, to do that, wouldn't you actually have to live in the real world? Why are the insane taken seriously?

Rep. Michelle Bachmann (R-MN) says ...

According to an analysis by the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, the average American household could expect its yearly energy bill to increase by $3,128 per year.
This qualifies as progress. Congresswoman Bachmann has moved from spewing outright conspiracy theories that should get her locked away in a rubber room (with a straitjacket, a therapist and strong doses of anti-psychotic medications) with standard, garden variety, Republican dishonesty. As always, there's more at the link.

Rep. Dan Boren (D-OK) says ...

The administration’s announcement today of sweeping changes to key defense programs is a significant concern. Even in tough economic times, providing a strong national defense for the American people should remain a top priority of the federal government.
Essentially, I consider Blue Dog Democrats to be a slight step-up from a moderate Republican, which means I only hate them a bit. When, however, they LIE about the President on the website of a Republican Senator who is, and I'm trying to be charitable here, insane, then it boils over into full fledge hatred. Screw the blue dogs. Primary every one of the sons of bitches out of the House.

Rep. Michele Bachmann (R-MN) says ...

And the real concerns is that there are provisions for what I would call re-education camps for young people, where young people have to go and get trained in a philosophy that the government puts forward and then they have to go to work in some of these politically correct forums.
I was trying to think of something funny to say, but I'm starting to get sick of these bat-shit insane Republicans accusing the Democrats of a fascist takeover. I honestly don't know if this woman is really this evil or whether she is the dumbest member of the House in history. Either way, I think she's dangerous. Yes, most people will ignore her or laugh her off, but the types of people who do listen can do serious harm.

Rep. Michelle Bachmann (R-MN) says ...

And so we need to once again decide, do we want to be free, or do we want to be slaves? We have to make that decision. And I know I've made my choice, you've made your choice. And we have to act in concert if we want to make sure that we can hold on to what we have.
I know, you aren't supposed to make fun of the mentally ill, but she makes it hard to resist.

Rep. Michelle Bachmann (R-MN) says ...

I will say, Sean, our Constitution is to have a strict, enumerated powers of government. Government was never intended to have this sort of an incredible intervention in the economy. We are not a centralized, planned economy -- at least we're not supposed to be. We're free-market capitalism.
Maybe we can pool our money and buy a copy of the constitution where Rep. Bachmann can point out the relevant sections to us? (In a cool bit of snark, the title of the post at the link is "Michelle Bachmann sends pitiful earthlings a message from Planet Wingnuttia". Ha.)

Well, Glenn, I have experienced that throughout my political career, being labeled a kook.
No shit.

Rep. Michelle Bachmann (R-MN) says ...

I’m a foreign correspondent on enemy lines and I try to let everyone back here in Minnesota know exactly the nefarious activities that are taking place in Washington.

I would say there are probably 30 keepers of the flame over here ...The main thing we can do right now is be foreign correspondents reporting to you from enemy lines. [...]

I want people in Minnesota armed and dangerous on this issue of the energy tax because we need to fight back. Thomas Jefferson told us ‘having a revolution every now and then is a good thing,’ and the people – we the people – are going to have to fight back hard if we’re not going to lose our country. And I think this has the potential of changing the dynamic of freedom forever in the United States.
She's in desperate need of mental health care.

Michaelle Bachmann says ...

Well, the average earmark I think for the state of Minnesota for the members of Congress is somewhere around 70,000– $70 million, so mine is very, very small on that level and that’s in the first two years that was in. After I saw the way that the process worked, after being a freshman, I saw how corrupt it was and took an earmark pledge and that’s why I personally have no earmarks in the current budget bill and the stimulus bill that was passed this year.
Is there anything the elected officials of the GOP won't lie about?
