Glenn Beck says ...



I'm not going to say that all of the founding fathers would disagree with Beck here, but I think he should pick up any reasonably decent biography of George Washington.

As for secession, I think the historical precedent to disallow it was firmly set in the 1860s.

I'm not one who usually questions the patriotism of others, but when you speak of seceding from the Union you are saying you don't want to be an American anymore. If, for example, Gov. Rick Perry (R-TX) were to say he's a Texan first, and an American second, what would that say?

Me? I'm an American first. The fact that I'm from Georgia doesn't enter into my self-identity at all.
