Attempting to answer the question, who's dumber: Conservative politicians or the mainstream American press?

Since we don’t have any of this money that’s now being dispensed from Washington, DC; since we’re going out and printing money and we’re issuing debt to solve a problem that was created by too much debt; since that’s taking place, and since those costs will be borne by the next generation, in fact it is sort of fiscal child abuse to do what we’re doing.I think the fact that Sanford doesn't want stimulus money ... and has no problem firing 4,000 teachers ... says everything we need to know about this "rising conservative star". I hope he's on the ticket. He's one dumb mofo.
There are consequences to every decision we make in life, and I'm comfortable with the consequences of this one. The easiest thing in the world would have been to accept the money and move on, but it would be completely at odds with the decision-making framework that I've used over the last 15 years of my lifeTranslation? I'm a gonna screw the people who elected me.
What you're doing is buying into the notion that if we just print some more money that we don't have, send it to different states - we'll create jobs... If that's the case why isn't Zimbabwe a rich place? ... why isn't Zimbabwe just an incredibly prosperous place. Cause they're printing money they don't have and sending it around to their different - I don't know the towns in Zimbabwe but that same logic is being applied there with little effect.Yeah, I know. Expecting intelligent comments from a Republican politician from South Carolina is a lot like expecting intelligent comments from a Republican politician from Georgia. Ain't gonna happen. Still, this wasn't just stupid, it was offensive and it was certainly racist. Not shocking though. Nope. Not when considering the source.
